We’ve gathered trusted resources covering education, health, benefits, and local services all in one place to help you find the support you need quickly and confidently.
H&F Local Offer – The Local Offer is an online resource that provides information about services and support available for children and young people with SEND. Every local authority is responsible for writing and sharing a Local Offer.
H&F SENDIASS – Provides free, confidential, and impartial advice for parents, carers, and young people on education, health, and social care support for children with SEND.
IPSEA – IPSEA offers free, independent legal advice and support to families navigating special educational needs and disability (SEND) law. Their helpline and online resources help parents understand their rights, challenge decisions, and secure appropriate educational provision for their children. They also prodice a legal handbook which can be found here.
Council for Disabled Children – They are the umbrella body for the disabled children’s sector with a membership of over 300 voluntary and community organisations and an active network of practitioners that spans education, health and social care. They also produce a legal handbook which can be found here.
Carers UK – Carers UK provides advice, information, and emotional support to unpaid carers looking after family members or friends. They campaign nationally for carers’ rights and offer practical guidance on finances, employment, and accessing local support.
Carers Network – Carers Network is an independent local charity working across City of Westminster, the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham and the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea. They provide information, activities, carers assessments and advice for those caring for someone over 18 years.
Shelter – Shelter offers expert advice and advocacy on housing, homelessness, and tenants’ rights. Their services help families understand housing options, challenge unfair treatment, and access emergency support when facing insecure or unsafe housing situations.
Action on Disability – AoD is a West London Disabled People’s Organisation (DPO) led by disabled people, for disabled people. They work to ensure that disabled people have independence, choice and control over their own lives. Their website contains lots of useful information and they offer welfare benefits advice service, youth club, direct payments support, employment support and activities for disabled residents.
Hammersmith and Fulham Mencap – A charity for families of adults with learning disabilities. Which has grown into a mlti-project service provider to support people with learning disabilities and their families.
Creighton Centre – The Creighton Centre, formerly Bishop Creighton House, was first established in 1908. They provide support to residents of Hammersmith and Fulham and West London, tackling problems caused by social isolation and disadvantage. The Creighton Centre offers meeting space for all members of the community, as well as a range of services that offer practical solutions and emotional support for the people of West London.
Family Fund – Support for Families with Disabled Children (SFDC) programme is funded by the Department for Education and administered by Family Fund. It provides a wide range of grant items to families in England raising a disabled or seriously ill child or young person, and living on a low-income.
Contact – Contact is a national charity that help families with disabled children. They provide information and advice on money, debt, benefits, cost of living, education, health, social care, and more.
Government SEND – Official government guidance explaining support for children with special educational needs (SEN), including assessments, EHCPs, and your rights as a parent or carer.
